The East African lingua franca is?
Either English or Swahili I guess. But I don't believe that there is any lingua franca in East Africa as not all East African countries speak Swahili or else only in isolated areas, especially the northeastern countries like Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia. Same with English.
