Should we walk from hotel to Staples Center?

my friend and I are going to the SM TOWN concert at the beginning of next month in LA. we are still deciding what hotel to stay at, and i'm wondering if it would be safe for us to walk from the JW Marriott/LA Live to the staples center and back after the concert..? by the looks of what ive seen on the internet, the hotel is literally right beside the staples center, but then again, the concert is ending at around 1 in the morning... anyway, is it safe for two 17 year old girls, or should we take a shuttle from the hotel? depending on this, we might concider the marriott as out first option, only for the reason we can save some money on tranportation, but if its not the best idea to walk to/from the concert, then its not a huge deal where we stay. thanks!
